In the past, health care providers in Ontario relied on the provincial government for as much as 2/3 of their capital campaigns. While the government is not cutting off funding for many of the key health services required in Ontario, it is clear that the health care restructuring of the last few years means that hospitals, nursing homes and other health care providers will be expected to raise an increasing portion of their capital requirements in their communities.

   It also means that we will have to be creative in raising the funds needed to ensure the health care services of our community are met. Keeping up with medical technology and making changes at Algonquin Health Services and Fairvern Nursing Home will be expensive.

   In support of this vision, the Huntsville Hospital Foundation is committed to a campaign to raise $5 million. We need your commitment.

   The Huntsville Hospital Foundation is excited about the future of our health care services. Whether you are a seasonal resident or a permanent resident of Muskoka and East Parry Sound, our community has it all--tourism, industry, excellent social services and beautiful surroundings.

   We also have some of the finest, most dedicated health care professionals. They need our help in ensuring that funds are available to maintain the high quality of care that this community is used to.

     Contributing to the Campaign is an investment. It’s an investment in health and enjoyment of life for you, your family and your friends in Muskoka, East Parry Sound and Algonquin Park. It makes good sense to invest in your health.

   Of course, our health services give so much back to the community in terms of economics with $29 million adding direct and significant value to our area every year. That’s important, too.
